ZQ crashes when I load my quest. I also noticed a YCK0IPWN.tmp that i've never seen before. There is nothing more I can do, so i'm just gonna do what everyone else is doing and play Lost Isle for a while.
Oh and here's the allegro:

/Grrr.../
I'm no expert, but doesn't reading custom subscreen suppose to come next.
the tmp files aare normal.
loading up ZC causes the log file to get recreated, it does this every time ZC is run, so you should have uploaded the log file before starting LI.
But the temp file is still there, I thought it deletes itself everytime you quit. I don't know?
Anyway here is said Corrupted quest. Any chance in salvaging it? I know everyone's taking some R&R with Lost Isle and all.
This is also the one with the disappearing enemy names.
..what was wrong with the title? it wasn't that obnoxious was it? It was just caps...jeez.....someones bored.
ZQ crashes when I load my quest.
Don't you mean ZC? ZQuest loads this quest just fine.
The subscreens look terrible, though (no offence) - loads of glitched Classic tileset item tiles, and the item selector looks very glitchy.

It's supposed to delete itself every time.
If it's not then that's probably why your quest won't open for you but opened for Luigi.
Delete the temp file and try again.
There was a beta a while back that did that to me, and I had to delete the temp files to get it to work again, but once I did they started working again correctly.
I'd assume that it'd delete the temp files on program exit as part of the procedures that tell everything ZC-related to shut down. If there's a crash, it probably wouldn't reach the point where it'd tell things to shut down properly, and as such, delete the temporary files. Those temporary files would probably stores all the temporary data (I should think so. ) about the quest you're playing to keep in the save file when you're done. If it was left open over there, it'd probably be able to influence the next ZC play session, as it sees data it's trying to interpret as being played in already. I'll bet that could be what happened.
Yes, when ZC or ZQ shuts down normally, it deletes the temp files; if it crashes, it will sometimes leave the files in the ZC directory. Although I'm not sure why the presence of an old temp file would stop ZC from loading, since normally it just creates a new temp file with a different name.
Gleeok, are you still having trouble loading your quest, after taking the above suggestions?
It was the b12 that did that to me, if that info helps. 😉
Ah, I did as suggested by you guys and everything works fine now. It must've been the temp folder I guess...Thanks.
The subscreens look terrible, though (no offence) - loads of glitched Classic tileset item tiles, and the item selector looks very glitchy.
Ahahahahaa! ...well yeah, that's because i've only set a few items to have sprites so far, and I haven't bothered importing the other stuff yet.
It did crash originally trying to read the subscreen though...fight?
DD, if saving a quest, does it first save to a TMP file then rename and copy the file over the original? because that would be good in case zquest crashes while saving 😉
It saves the quest to a temporary file in a raw format, which it then compresses to form a .qst file. If you give me the raw file I should be able to recover the .qst, though when ZQ crashes it usually does so before compression, in which case the raw file is incomplete and unrecoverable.
DarkDragon: Luigi has said that this quest is indeed corrupted when he tried opening it in b500. But he say's it works in ZC.
Also him and myself have been able to open it in in 492. Did you try that?
EDIT: do you mean the temp file? I still have it....Here
Your custom subscreens have become badly corrupt, I'm guessing due to the old .qst import bug.
Do you need me to try to recover the quest, or do you have backups?
Oh nevermind me. ',) :googly: I was overly paranoid that the corruption bug might strike again on another unsuspecting person. But if it's been fixed then.
And i've got more backups tyhan you can shake a stick at ;P
