tilewarp tab scrolling

When You are setting the dmap destination in the tab it's sometimes very difficult to select the dmap you want, it will scroll past it up and down.
For example if you want dmap 22, when you scroll it will jump to 20 and then 26, getting in between those is hard, even when clicking on the up down arrows.

This is happening with tile warps too, still present in 473.

This is a most irritating bug, it forces you to choose one near to the one you want because you can't get the one you want, and then you have to reclick on the tabs dropdown to get the one that you do want.

Hmm, now that you say that, I've seen this in many drop downs, since, like, 1.92. I always noticed it the most in the screen Palette drop down

Yep, screen Palette drop down is a bad one too, have to choose one close and then click in again to zero in on the one you want.

How do you tell in the editor?

I've got me a brand new optical mouse with a scroll wheel, so it no longer matters to me, I took DN's advice. 😉
I've even gotten used to doing it that way. 😉
Isn't progress a wonderful thing? 😉
I might even move up to XP one of these days. 😉
Oh... and welcome back from your trip, hope it all went well.

You have to turn it on manually in the ZQuest options.
I wonder because of the other problem you were having, with item animations. If you're running at something like 70 FPS that could explain both problems.

You should definitely upgrade to XP - it's orders of magnitude more stable than '95 or, god forbid, '98/ME.

The trip was wonderful, thanks - both the conference itself and the corporate parties afterwards with open bars 😉

I didn't see it in options, must have just overlooked it.
The animations went back to normal once you exited and then re-entered the program, haven't had that problem again, and I forget now what build that even was.
I'm running 98SE, 1 gig processor, and 512 ram, I plan on building a new machine when I get moved, about x4 of what this one is, and going with XP Pro.

It's 60 FPS 😉

Actually, the thing about the mouse wheel wasn't a suggestion, but rather an idea of what could have been causing the problem. 😃

The wheel works great for me too. Much better than in 2.10 when I would always miss the target by one and have to reopen the damn window again.

When you were scrolling, were you using the scroll arrows at the ends of the scrollbar or were you using the slider?

Okay. I understand the problem now. It's not a bug but a limitation of the dropdown list box. The way around it is, when the dropdown box is highlighted, use the arrow keys to select the item you want.
