Not sure how to explain this one. Grab this quest file:

And proceed two rooms to the right (cheat to avoid the boss if you like).
You'll get the Aquarius Bubble, which has an item script and three FFC scripts running on FFCs 30, 29, and 28. Each of the three FFCs carrys over. Wander around a bit with the FFCs and keep using the Bubble rapidly. Eventually, I don't know when or why, one of your bubbles will lose it's script. You can tell because it will shoot out straight instead of making a loopy-loop. I have no idea why this happens. It doesn't seem to be connected to any particular screen.
Frustrating!
New information on this bug.
At least one of the conditions that will cause your FFC to not carry over is if it is off of the screen (like, at -16,-16) when the player changes screens. But this is not the ONLY thing that will stop the FFC from carrying over. I continue to investigate.
I think I found the last condition that prevents FFCs from carrying over. An FFC that displays Combo 0 when the player changes screens will not carry over.
Haha, so now they're no longer "unpredictable." 😊
Anyway, I'd like to see this fixed. I've got a 1500-line item script in the works that relies on carry-over ffcs.
I think it's "fixed" now, in the sense that we've figured out how it was designed. Just ensure your script carefully prevents FFCs from ever leaving the screen or being assigned 0 and the FFC will carryover with no trouble.
You DO have to put your carryover FFC on any screen Link can start on after death, though. Or any screen that enemy whirlwinds can take him. (Enemy whirlwinds do not carry over FFCs!)
BTW, whats the item you're working on?
So... what change to you guys want, if any, to the way carryovers work?
It seems like no change is required, but it might be nice to allow carried-over scripts to "continue" with Link, whether it's via continue/save/retry/quit, death, or wallmaster/windrobe warp.

I vote for "Allow FFCs to be off screen when they carry over"
Well there's no way I believe myself to be remotely script capable to even post a scripting bug in the forum, but here are some quirks that I cannot explain or work around respectively.
1) ffc paste special isn't pasting what script was in the ffc slots that were copied. Is it supposed to?
2) I cannot get this very basic script to carry over. I tried all the combinations of flags that might affect it too.(I'm unsure if this one is supposed to be able to carry over, mainly just the paste ffc thing)
ffc script random_door_generator{ //ver1.0
void run(){
int RandNum = Rand(4);
if (RandNum == 0 && Screen->Door[DIR_DOWN] == D_WALL){
Screen->Door[DIR_DOWN] = D_SHUTTER;
} if (RandNum == 1 && Screen->Door[DIR_UP] == D_WALL){
Screen->Door[DIR_UP] = D_SHUTTER;
} if (RandNum == 2 && Screen->Door[DIR_LEFT] == D_WALL){
Screen->Door[DIR_LEFT] = D_SHUTTER;
} if (RandNum == 3 && Screen->Door[DIR_RIGHT] == D_WALL){
Screen->Door[DIR_RIGHT] = D_SHUTTER;
}
}
}
Well, this script runs only once and then stops, so carrying over it does nothing.
I'll look into ZQ not pasting the script assignments.
