When playing a 2.10 quest, if you are in a room where a red potion is given as an item when you kill all the enemies, you can't pick it up. This may happen only when you have a blue potion already in your inventory, I forgot to see if I could pick it up if I had no potions at all. I was just walking over the potion, never picking it up.
When I played my quest in build 346 I had no problem picking up a blue potion in a room when I had a blue in my inventory and it upgraded to a red.
I know this should normally work since I have always done this successfully in 2.10.
Potion pick up bug - build 357
Yes. There's code in ZC which stops you from picking up a second potion if you already have one in your inventory when the item's combine flag is not checked.
The normal behavior would be for the higher-level one (red potion) to replace the old item, but there's a special check to not do that for potions. The comment says, "Special legacy case."
Maybe you couldn't pick up a red potion if you already had a blue one on the NES?
I was wrong. I thought that on NES you couldn't pick up a blue potion if you had a red potion. But no, it turns out that's not the case.
Fixed!
The main problem with this is in the NES game you can only buy potions, they were never dropped. So if you had a blue potion, you could buy either one and have a red in your inventory. I think that's how it should be with pick ups as well. Thanks for the fix guys.
Did you have the potions combine quest rule checked in your original quest? If so, there is an additional bug here.
The rule No Combining Potions was not checked which means it should have worked. I know it has in 2.10 anyway.
Ok, I've checked your quest; all should be cool in the next build.
Bug confirmed fixed in build 378.
