beta 337: weird bug with first note in MIDI

um, no idea actually, i think if you search the forums i may have reported this eons ago... i can't search the forums so it would be a pain for me to find my old post.

can i just list my posts?

If I click on your name, I have the option to "find more posts by franpa." I'm not sure if you can do that without being a subscriber/mod, though I know that at one point all beta testers had search capabilities.

I'm going to take a look at this bug tomorrow; you might also want to call koopa's attention to it, as he is ZC's sound guru.

hey darkdragon, why does this issue have a green tick if nothing was changed in the sound code? i think whatever changed affected the jerky behavior i encounter.

the difference between 346 and 339 is massive... 346 is almost playable where as 339 and older have massive spikes.

Hey franpa hope you don't mind I was curios about this and downloaded your quest. ;P

So what i'm hearing is basically some kind of Bm11 chord when you leave the town via top-left or left of town. But notice that you don't hear it when returning. I think this has something to do with that particular midi...actually i have no idea, i'm just guessing. ;=) but my reasoning for this is that the other midi's are in Dm, and Cmaj respectively.
does this go away if you change stuff like loop start, end or whatnot?
actually... could you put up a link to the midi? I could open it up and look through it. I always enjoy a good mystery.😉

lol that aint my quest :P it is snorts quests.

it occurs when you leave and when you enter the village it also occurs when you start the quest (IE as soon as the intro initializes)

I guess I should read the headers and intro screens more often.

on a side note(no pun intended ;P) i hear this in 254 as well, but i can't recreate this with other midi's. I wonder if it's midi specific?

Koopa, have you had any luck with this? There is almost certainly a bug in the Allegro midi code which is not reseting the midi controller correctly when loading a new song.

The fact that I'm currently on linux and haven't got any midi at all is slightly hampering it ... should get windows out again, I guess.
