Yup, it's oh so very good to be able to see again. Though I did pass up another opportunity to get Edward James Olmos glasses. My sister says that since I plan to be a teacher, I need to get huge glasses like Edward James Olmos had in "Stand and Deliver," because she's convinced they were the source of his teaching powers.
So...
"Bitten by a pair of radioactive glasses, Edward J. Olmos awakens one day to realize that he suddenly has the power to impart knowledge into the minds of the young through an exotic process called 'teaching', and takes the identity of Jaime A. Escalante in order to fight evil and stupidity in the world".
I once had glasses, but I really prefer contacts. They look better, they don't fog up in the winter, they don't break, and if you lose one, you'll always have more. I know you are supposed to take them out every night... but I don't. I leave them in for a month at a time until it is time to change pairs.

His name is Escalante, but he is better known by his ignorance-fighting moniker:
Quimo.

I do the same thing. I don't think it really matters. Its just like when your dentist tells you to floss twice a day, but no one ever does.
It seems this thread is slowing down... what can be done to help it's revival?
I'm sorry, Prr, I'll try to spend more time here from now on. 😉
No apology needed hon... real life will always take precedence. But it is slowing down... and we don't want that 😊 do we? 😉
No! I'll sacrifice my life to keep this thread going! Okay, maybe not that much, but I don't want it to die!

That's such a great movie.
It doesn't feel that much different from having to pay for my insurance now, except there's $100-ish money I'm able to use a month. And my asthma medications aren't covered for a year now either. And it doesn't kick in for about a month. I just hope that I don't have any serious health issues during that time.

I'll make it easier for you then. Hopefully you won't have to give up your life.
And I have to say, Earthbound was the only RPG that I've ever really played all the way through (I just finished it a few days ago). A game that doesn't take itself too seriously and is thoroughly entertaining. I only wish that more came out in the US.
RIP Nanook 2007-2008

we woke up to find Nanook like this near our bed. he passed comfortably in his sleep and the vet says he wasn't in any pain.
we're going to auction off all his toys on eBay to raise enough money to buy another dog. if you're interested in owning a piece of Nanook's life then send me a PM.
Oh, Breaker, I'm so sorry. What was wrong with him?

So... are you serious? Or are you just showing us a funny picture of your dog?
Because that's kind of a funny picture. But if you took a picture of your dead dog, that's weird.
If Nanook did die, maybe it's because you own a Husky in a place where it's 900 degrees with 410% humidity? Also, honestly, condolences. Unless you're joking. I can't tell if I should be sincere or sarcastic.
Please clarify.
...I can't tell either. It looks pretty genuine... but I would imagine you'd sound more upset... Same with me, sorry to hear that Nanook died, if he did. Else, nice picture.
:confuse2:
I'm a bit skeptical myself with the way the tounge is sticking out. I wonder if anyone has actually PM'ed him about the toys.
Nothin like putting away about a few thousand pounds of food and packaging during the morning at work. It's nice that half of the stuff is in the cooler. I forgot how much I liked doing that 😮
that's actually him when you tell him to "play dead". he's so convincing that he deserves an oscar. he even sticks his tongue slightly out to top off the effect.
i know, horrible joke. 😉

NANOOK IS FINE. and he loves florida, the sun, and especially the beaches.
also, he's gotten absolutely huge. here are before and after pictures of him as a puppy and 12 months old (his birthday is this month).

OK good. I am glad he is ok because he is absolutely adorable.

GO TO HELL. GO DIRECTLY TO HELL. DO NOT PASS GO. DO NOT COLLECT $200.
I was almost sad for you too, dickface.
That picture is extremely convincing. I can't wait to get my own dog.
lmfao. Now that's a cool trick.
I've sent in a few payments for my student loan and haven't heard anything until today. From another loan company. Stating my orignal balance along with a nice Past Due notice. Now I need to find out what the hell is going on. :/
So on saturday I got sniped in the forehead. Since I was about 25 feet from the shooter, and the gun shot at about 400fps, I now have a killer welt on my head, that I will probably need to drain.
I love airsoft.
BOOM HEADSHOT! I mean, that sounds terrible.
ZTC - is this other loan company legit? Just asking, 'cause there's always the potential for some sort of phishing scam or something.

Now you're talking my kind of subject. I actually just finished it a few months ago, but I love it.

I almost had aheart attack when I read that. DON'T DO ANYTHING LIKE THAT AGAIN!
*yawn* Hoo boy, I stayed up till 4:00 last night playing Counterstrike. Totally worth it, too. Granted, I suck at Counterstrike, but the people on the server were hilarious. It was one of those times when the voice chat was more entertaining than the actual game.
I can hardly ever take Counterstrike seriously anymore. Just because you see some totally decked out dudes with guns and then you hear prepubescent kids' voices, and my mind just can't match that together.
Kinda like how in the one series of Power Rangers, a little kid is the blue ranger, and he grows like 3 feet when he gets in his gear. WTF
Mighty Morphin Power Rangers is the American version of the Japanese show Kyōryū Sentai Zyuranger. In fact, all the scenes in which the heroes are morphed into their Power Ranger selves are taken directly from the original show. Thus, in the American version, little Trini Kwan morphs not only into the Yellow Ranger but also into a man, as Yellow is a dude in the original Japanese series.
And I just stumbled upon Nozzle Rage....
