When having enemies which dont usually fire projectiles, uhh... fire projectiles, the animation for such seems to take a long time.
Notibly Gibdo's. when they stop to shoot a fireball it looks like it rises up through their body before shooting at link and missing the mark.
( I had link in the corner of the room and he wasn't getting hit.)
Fireballs with very bad aim
The same's happening to Zoras in 288 - providing Link is below the Zora in question.
yep, happens with zora's in older quests as well, going back to 1.90.
Edit; you don't have to be under them, it depends on which way they're facing.
I can verify this bug. It's pretty annoying =p
Bug is still here in 293
Bug is still here in 303. It's really not all that hard to pinpoint. Just go to a screen with zoras. You will notice that their fireballs rise up through their head, and then, when fired, dont have a very good aim.
Sorry to triple post, but I really want to see this one go down.
I'm on it.
Ok, I see the code that's causing this problem, but before I can fix it:
What enemies are suppose to shoot fireballs that behave in this way?
Anything that shoots 3 fireballs. The fireballs are supposed to separate, then move forward.

So far zora's are the only unmodded enemies with this bug. However when assigning fireball as weapon type to other enemies, they exhibit this behavior as well.

This is with single fireball shooting enemies such as zoras. or altered enemies. I believe the 3 fireball code seems fine.
Yes, but this bug is tricky; if I just change the fireball code so that Zoras work correctly, other enemies (in particular the Aquamentus and Gohma) whose fireballs are suppose to act like this, would break.
I ended up making a new weapon type, Fireball (Rising), which preserves the current fireball behavior, and gave this weapon to the above two bosses. Old quests should automatically incorporate this change.
Fixed in the next build.
Thats great!
So...are we gonna be able to specify what type/amount of fireball an enemy uses, or is this stuff hard coded now.
Number is hard-coded, for now. However, you are perfectly free to change what kind of fireball an enemy uses.
Dead bug.
The Fball rising for other enemies has no real aiming, but it's not supposed to i guess.(aquamentus) plus it gives some variation on Fball attacks. I like it.
