Title pretty much sums it up. One interesting note though, when you change Aquamentis's(yeah i know that looks stupid but i don't think a spell checker will work on that one) weapon it always shoots up down and left. Really looks dumb when you have Aquamentis facing right. It can't hurt you.
All Bosses shoot up when weapon is changed
Confirmed I had this happen in my first dungeon! And I also had this happen In my third one back on the b254!
yes, this was mentioned before, the reason behind this is that most enemy weapons can only move in the four cardinal directions. Thats the Legend of Zelda engine fault, not the designers. However it can be most troublesome when you have a boss like the Aquamentus shoot only 1 forward, one down, and one up.
Make this an enemy editor flag "Monster's can shoot/throw diagonally"
So here's the deal: currently, all enemies *should* shoot weapons in the direction they are facing... which depending on the enemy is one of the four or the eight cardinal directions. That is not a bug.
The Aquamentus (and higher-level Gohma) is a special case. They shoot a special kind of fireball, Fireball (Rising), which first rises in the direction that they are fired, then homes in on link. The direction they are fired indicates which direction they should "rise" before pursuit.
Thus if you change the Aquamentus's weapon, it will fire once up, once down, and once in no direction at all. This is intentional, and can't be changed until the enemy editor is greatly expanded.
However, if some of the other enemies shoot in funky directions, let me know, as they should now all fire in the direction they're facing.
Theres been a lot of improvement, and now other bosses as of 319 will fire in 4 directions, or in the patra3 case fire madly every direction. However none will lock in on link, and 3/4 of the time shoot any where but.
EDIT:
------However, if some of the other enemies shoot in funky directions, let me know, as they should now all fire in the direction they're facing.------
Almost forgot. check out the manhandla. The four mouths will shoot in the same direction, regardless of which way its facing... actually come to think of it, they all do that too.
Manhandla: Fixed in the next build.
Manhandla fixed, Died bug.
