Yeah, so I found that some Taiwanese site had posted a link to a zip containing the Nestopia emulator, the SMB1 ROM, and the IPS patch for the hack.
It is, ironically, called "Super Mario Forever". Funny that one of the hardest Mario hacks on YouTube would share a name with one of the hardest standalone Mario fangames.
Anyway, I've repackaged it into a more legal form: a zip with just the IPS patch, and the readme that came with the hack...though, as said readme appears to be written in Japanese, I dunno how much good it'll do you English-speakers. 😛
For those of you not familiar with ROM hacks: you'll need an IPS patcher (I recommend Lunar IPS) to patch the IPS file to a clean copy of the SMB1 ROM.
Have fun, you sick masochists. :whap:

Never heard of it till now. o.o
/me goes to watch teh vid and grabs the patch
When I read the thread title, I thought you meant the Mario 64 hack. Bah!
I remember watching this on youtube a couple weeks ago at work. I was laughing my ass off. Every time the guy gets to a part he hasn't been to before, he tries to make a jump and hits his head on a new invisible block and dies. It's friggin' sadistic.
I'll have to try this out for myself.....
This is the funniest idea of a Mario hack I've ever heard! Because it really is the worst SMB1 hack I've ever seen! You can't even get through the first level, and you start with an insane number of lives that makes the hack last forever!
This "Mario Forever" business is being closely followed by me and several other people over at selectbutton.net.
