Who'da thunk?! I don't condone "thugery" ... but having one of their town signs would be pretty cool <lol>.
A town in Austria named F*cking.
Hehe... British tourists have an obsession with F*cking... 😊
I imagine it would be funny to be visiting that town and getting a call froma buddy
BUDDY - Where are ya?
ME - F*cking.
BUDDY - F*cking who?
ME - No, I'm in a place called F*cking.
BUDDY - ...yes? Fucking what?
ME - Fu... ah, nevermind.
I had to tell an English lady . . . there were no Fucking postcards.
*Hilarity*
Imagine having to write that for your address every time you mailed something...
123 Somewhere Street #567
Fucking, Austria 99999
I'd crack up every time I mailed something.

It's even funnier if you forget the comma.
Wikipedia claims that it's pronounced like "cooking". Even so, it's still hilarious that they have so much trouble with the stolen street sign.
:lmao:  I read the entire article and I gotta say that I almost died laughing. Freaking hilarious. :kitty:
I wonder if you would get in trouble for saying the name on television. I can imagine a funny comedy bit could come out of this.
WOW! I would not believe that they would name towns bad words!
When I was in high school, I was a student ambassador to western europe twice. We were going to austria as part of the first trip, and we had a riot when we found out about the existence of this city. We never got to go there, but the jokes abounded for days.
lmfao
There's my laugh for the day. Interesting find
Bizzare...you have to assume that the town was founded, like, 300 years ago, when the word wasn't even around, or somthing.
Try close to 1000 years...
Fucking (IPA: /ˈfʊkɪŋ/ — it rhymes with the English word "cooking"😉 is a small settlement (population c. 93), part of the municipality of Tarsdorf,[2] in the Innviertel region of western Upper Austria, located at 4804′02″N, 1251′49″E, bordering Bavaria. [3] It is near the city of Salzburg, and also the town of "Tittmoning". The village is known to have existed as “Fucking” since at least 1070 and is named after a man from the 6th century called Focko. “Ing” is an old Germanic suffix meaning “people”; thus Fucking, in this case, means “place of Focko’s people”.[4]
Haha, I like that part where it says they have an obsession with Fucking
