Getting item Ring doesn't change Link's colors (b200 win)

Just as the topic title suggests, if I get a Red Ring, a Blue Ring, whatever ring, it affects Link's damage taken as usual, but Link's cset doesn't change. He remains green.

And no, my Link isn't using the 8-bit mode, so that's not the issue.

Confirmed, and it's still in 204 - I tested it in 1st Quest by purchasing the Blue Ring and leaving the shop - the Cset didn't change, although the ring still worked properly.

Yeah, I know what causes this bug.
The basic problem is that tunic colors are hardcoded, but rings and their associated levels are not, and can be tweaked using the item editor. Updating the in-game and title screen cset to somehow take this into account might be best described as "a nightmare," not made any easier by the fact that the tunic color code is liberally scattered about the source instead of localized in one place.
I'm going to ignore this essentially cosmetic issue for now while I tackle other bugs of higher priority; please forgive me 😞

Damn. Well even though it's not a high priority bug for you, it will eventually be fixed? I mean even though it's just a cosmetic issue, it's a pretty big one. Of course if you can determine/change the cset with the item editor, then there's no problem... except with older quests of course, uh oh. Oh well...

I know this bug is not in your "TOP bugs list" but this is pretty major bug because Rings in quests are such a "big" item ya know? I beg you to try to solve this bug in the very near future (or some else dev?) since the builds are becoming quite stable and there doesn't seem to be so many major bugs in these builds anymore so this one really shouldn't be at the bottom of your priority list.. no matter how hard bug it is to fix.

Yeah I'm in no position to make any kind of demands but the reason this bug bothers me so much is that if this bug gets fixed, I think ZC is stable enough to run Lost isle correctly and I'd really love to get that one released before 2.5 is released somewhere in the ditant future...

Fine, fine, I'll try to look into this sometime in the next few days. Mostly because I want to play Lost Isle.

Hugely appreciated Mr. DD. I don't want to be so annoying but it's just that if these few bugs that I keep reporting get fixed, I really think Wolfie and I would be able to release LI soon on some of these newest builds instead of waiting for a full 2.5 release. 😉

Yeah, we're eagerly looking forward to releasing this in the next couple months if these current stable builds of betas continue.

That's very great news and I'd love to confirm the bug being fixed, but every time I try to open b229 I get an error message which says the program cannot be opened because there's some kind of composition error...

Well, I have a Finnish Win XP so the message is in finnish... but the exact translation:

"Starting the application failed because its composition was incorrect. Re-installing the application may solve this problem."

And if I try to open it with ZCLaunch, I get a box saying that if you don't wanna suffer any data losses, click Close.

*shrugs*

This one's finally fixed! Thanks DD! I have not enough words to say how happy I am. 😊 These builds are getting damn stable...
