If I remember correctly, insta warps that are direct warps warp the player to the next area where Link is currently standing.
I have noticed in beta 16 that this is now not the case. If you set them up the same way, like for a cut scene or for talking to NPC's, he will warp to the return point specified at the tile or side warp screen. You can work around it, but it seems like a waste of warp combos just to make sure link is warping correctly.
I'm pretty sure this is a bug. It didn't do it in beta 15.
definitely a bug. Will look into it.
It isn't a bug: It's user error. Rocksfan13, direct warps work as regular warps unless they warp to a different dmap than the one you are on. It's worked that way for a long time.

Yeah right. Direct Warps are warps that WARP YOU TO THE EXACT SAME X AND Y COORDNATES ON THE NEW SCREEN, REGARDLESS OFTHE DMAP. Try and prove me wrong? Play ZC2.10 and see if it does that. Why would the devs only make direct warps do what their name says they'll do in one specific situation? Just trying to make a point here. And I'm not wrong. YOU are.
I just tested this in NeoFirst. From Dmap 0, Map 5, Screen 34, I put down a Direct Warp [A] combo somewhere in a corner, set the arrival points on a marker combo, (Visually marking something, ... ... no actual "Marker" combo. 😛 ) and set it to warp to Dmap 0, Map 5, Screen 35, on another marker combo. That screen had an identical warping scheme, except it warps to screen 34 instead of 35. I warped to and from both screens using the same direct warp [A] combo, and neither of which had warped me to any arrival point. It was purest X/Y coords through out.
... Matthew. Chillax yo. 😛 We're all friends here. If someone insists, wait until they provide a test quest. Very, very few people just make up a bug, and Revfan is no ZC n00b. Wait for the test quest.
EDIT: From a Query with Revfan over Chat.
[22:41] <ShadowTiger> Maybe it's just on your end.
[22:41] ShadowTiger: Could be.
[22:41] ShadowTiger: Some people have reported some very user-specific things.
[22:41] Revfan: Actually, I've never used it on the same Dmap
[22:41] Revfan: I was told it only worked on different dmaps
[22:41] Revfan: When I was told what Direct Warps were back when I was a newbie
[22:41] ShadowTiger: Interesting. O.o'
[22:41] ShadowTiger: No wonder.

You're treading a fine line here...
From what I understood, it only worked if you were on a different Dmap. It works on a different Dmap in beta 16b. So it must have been fixed in 16b if it existed in 16.
