When picking up a clock, Link will cycle through the csets like it usually does. However, the cycling won't stop when clock stops. It will continue blinking after it is supposed to stop.
Edit: Actually, the effect of the clock keeps going altogether. You are invincible and won't get damaged. So basically the clocks are broken.
are you using cheats? if yes then i think this has been reported as a problem with the clocks ticking the cheat option but not unticking it... where as with cheats disabled it worked fine.
I am not using cheats in any form. I am just testing out HoD (a 2.10 game) to see if it plays correctly. I was in level 1, and got the clock continued to the next two rooms, and I was like what the heck my Link is still blinking from the clock. And then I ran through some enemies and I wasn't getting hit. I went half way through the level like this, and I finally just quit.
Did you have the temp clocks rule checked?
I'm not getting this bug btw.
Testing out ... do you have a keyfile? If so, that would cause it because it turns the L4 cheat on.
Yes the rule that is checked is: Clocks last limited time.
Anyways, this same bug happened to me before in 2.10 where the clock wouldn't lose its effect. I took the clocks out of my game for that reason, but I seemed to uncheck the enemies don't drop clocks rule because it isn't checked and this is how I got the bug. It was the first time I picked it up too.
Edit: Koopa posted when I started to write this. Anyways, I don't know what a keyfile is. I have cheats turned off in HoD, because I don't like cheats, so I am 100% sure that I didn't use cheats when I got this bug.
A keyfile can be saved in zquest by checking the box in the password dialog, it has the effect that you can open the quest in Zquest without typing the password each time, and it automatically turns on L4 cheats for that quest. It also has such effects on clocks. If you don't say you have one I'll take it as a no, and this is a genuine bug.
I haven't seen this problem lately. Has anyone else or can we call this dead?
Also there was this fix:
* The "temporary clocks" quest rule now works correctly for older quests. For quests saved in newer betas, you will have to manually set the clock item's misc1 variable to 256 to restore your quest's original behavior. ( DarkDragon, 2007-05-26 00:11:03 )
