Aquamentus bug.

In my quest, in an overworld DMap, its level 252 I have 1 Aquamentus with 9 lv2 leevers (Aquamentus is the ring leader) on a screen. There are also secret combos that are triggered by the "Enemies->secret" flag. I kill the Aquamentus the first time, all the leevers go with it, the secrets trigger and the flag "no secret reset" is checked and also the "Enemies always return" screen flag but I'll double check to be sure. When I re-enter that screen, ZC crashes, whats up with that?😞

Aquamentus is considered a boss and by the design of Z1 doesn't ever return regardless of the screen flag. Did you try unchecking the Enemies Return flag and see if it still crashes?

Checked, with the flag off, ZC does not crash (however, I would consider this a bug since somewhere in aquamentus's program it should be like "Ignore Screen Flags" or for the code of the flag itself should be "Exclude Boss Type enemies". SOMETHING that would stop ZC from crashing:glare:.)

It crashes because AQUAMENTUS IS THE RINGLEADER. You can keep the flag- It's the "Has Ringleader" Enemy Flag that's the problem. Like erm said, Aquamentus was designed as a boss, meaning he never comes back (But then again, Dodongo is a boss, but it ALWAYS comes back! O_o), even with that screen flag on. See, your problem is that the "Has ringleader" flag is attached to the Aquamentus, which stays destroyed when you destroy it. So when you re-enter its room.... It is flagged as "Destroyed", and since it is a Ringleader, it automatically destroys the Leevers again. AT ROOM ENTRY. The Screen Flag "Enemies Always Return" tries to activate at this time, but... It can't bring back Aquamentus, so when the Screen Flag brings the enemies back, Aquamentus destroys them AGAIN, and the screen flag brings them back, ringleader destroys them, and it keeps doing this FOREVER. This is called an "Infinite Loop", and CRASHES ZC. If you feel that certain flags and stuff will conflict with each other, DON'T USE THEM TOGETHER. It doesn't matter if they do or not- Better safe than sorry, right?

Well, surely the ability to crash ZC at all should be considered a bug of sorts, right?

But what to do...

Couldn't you make it so that if the game detects any problems(potentially game crashing), like loops, or conflicting flags, every X tics, the game calculates whether this problem WOULD crash the game, and if ZC finds that this is the case, automatically takes you to the continue screen, and, after you select your choice, the game tells you "ZC has been restarted because of conflicting data, that data was:

(What Pikaguy said about Aquamentus being the ring leader and the "Enemies return flag" can't return him so Aquamentus keeps destroying the enemies the flag tries to resurrect)

Or something like that, is that a feasible solution?

No. You're asking us to solve the halting problem 😉

Could someone confirm this bug is dead?
