Not sure if this is intended, but when you duplicate something, it jumps forward several... er, "object numbers" for lack of a better term. This really isn't a problem unless you're duplicating frames, because the object number jump will put it in front of everything else. Which defies the purpose of a frame.
2.11b11 Subscreen Editor Duplication Bug
The duplicate is placed at the end of the object list. Would it be better for it to be placed immediately after the last selected object in the object list? Or a way to do either? What does everyone think?
Maybe a feature where, if you're holding CTRL whenever you make a new object, it gets squeezed in at the object number right after whatever is currently highlighted, and pushes everything after it up one number?
Do duplicate numbers matter?
Can you have 2 frames numbered 4 for example without it causing a problem?
It appears that every single entity requires its own number. I mean, how can two things occupy the same space, you know? o.o' I'd thought the same thing, really. I'd LOVE for a frame and a "connector piece" that connects the frame to be merged with another frame, but that just doesn't make sense in terms of the individual pieces. They can't become another unique piece, removing the old ones and forming a single new one.
IMHO, not a bug. Just hold Ctrl+Pagedown to bring it back down where it belongs.

Nice tip, I was about to wear out the micro switch in my mouse.
I noticed that when you change the number, if you duplicate it to another item it changes it's item number, after I ask above. 😉
This is... so history. 😉
Moving to exterminated bugs.
