I admit, as much experience as I have with ZC, I am still having trouble getting the grabber to work right. First of all, the windows version won't work period, and the DOS version never recognizes the sfx.dat files. I always get an "Error Reading" message. Could someone please help out?
BTW, is the sound grabber even compatible with version 2.10?
How do you get the sfx.dat grabber thingy to work correctly?
In my experience the best thing to do is have a version of 183 lying around in a separate folder with all its resources and stuff, including the Allegro dll. Put grabber in there and it should work properly. After that you can use it to work with 2.10 datafiles.
I've tried that. Regardless of what I do, the grabber will always have an error reading the sfx.dat file and the Windows version won't even work. Is the grabber not compatible with Windows XP?

For some reason, my custom sfx.dat files don't work in 2.10. :confuse2:
