I can't find Lv.3. Please help me...
Do you know where level 9 is in the original Zelda?
I got the flippers. But I can't find Lv.4. 😞
Comments on DemoEX and Zeldaclassic:
I stumbled upon Zeldaclassic a few days ago and was shocked to see the level of dedication in keeping alive the fun of being totally lost and clueless in the world of Zelda.
Trying out DemoEX really surpassed my expectations, since the brilliant range of customization and difficulty didn't make things tedious, but very rewarding.
It wasn't too hard that one would just shrug and say they couldn't beat it. The "extra" dungeon, for example, kind of let me down initially when I got stuck in the 4 in 34 on my first run, but something about these custom quests drives one to conquer whatever is presented to them.
Hopefully I'll see more of these excellent challenges in future quests.
I already beat this quest, thanks.
Yowza:You can see "Top Ten Lists".
OK, I'm in Level 4 and have found one HC piece, the red candle, and the silver arrow. However I have 11 3/4 heart containers and thus can't pick up the Master Sword and proceed further into the level. I've been all over the map multiple times and exhausted my money with the lens many times over. Any more help on heart containers besides what's already been posted?
I was in the exact same sitation--11 3/4 hearts and needing the sword. Maybe you did what I did and completely missed the extra one in level 1. There is an extra full heart container in there. I also had missed the one that is (I think) 1 screen down and 1 screen right of where you get the lens. You have to dive for it.
Can someone provide help on locating the key in Level 4 to unlock the northern room?

Exactly how I feel about it! I could fill a page with the memories.... I just rediscovered ZC about a week ago after a 5-year hiatus ... I remember version 1.84 and so forth... Then for some reason it stopped working on my windows box and I sort of gave it up 😞. That and AG/ZC seemed to disappear off the face of the planet.... Glad that it's been kept alive after all!
Anyway figuring out Demo Quest was always my favorite activity in ZC 1.x. Especially it being SO DAMN HARD... (Perhaps I'm a masochist? 😃 ). Yet it still managed to be very addictive. I thought I was pretty good at Zelda but this really sharpened the skills.... to the point that, the once fear-inspiring rooms full of Blue Darknuts in the original quests seem like childish exercises now 😊 I remember the frustration trying to unravel that damned odd-colored rock thing, 😃. I passed Lv. 3 and never managed to figure out, back then, the mystery of the little green island at the end of the raft ride. Around that time was when everything stopped working and I was perturbed for about a week in "Demo Withdrawal"
Anyway upon the rediscovery of ZC (and finding out that it worked on my computer!) this quest was the first thing I was looking for... I almost panicked when I saw that it wasn't in the usual support files, 😃. But great to see that it's in the QDB and moreover, a finished product! Kudos to Nightmare for the continuation! I must say that over the 5 year gap my memory served me quite poorly and a lot of it felt as if I'd been doing it for the first time again. Which only heightens the experience 😉 Plus it's nice seeign the new ZC enemies ... like I'd not known the existence of fire-breathing Gleeoks until that top room in Lv. A... The look on my face (and the loudness of the WOAH DAMN! of amazement coming out of my mouth) at that moment was quite priceless. Now I've made it to Lv. 4 (finally put the island issue to rest... come to think of it, though... were Lv. 4/the flippers even in the old demo.qst, way back then?). Yes it is quite apt to say that it's all about the old enemies we know (and even love)... but now on crack. GRrrrarggh! Still, great fun!
See, told you it could fill a page. Anyway the main point is that I just wanted to say thanks! 😊 Great work!
Yep, Demo Quest is good times. Like everyone else, I'm happy that Level 4 finally got put in, but I still haven't made it all the way through the monstrosity, brutally stacked with monsters as it is.
By the way, I would now like to take the liberty of introducing you all to ch0ni, the only person on the boards whom I know in real life. He had a handful of posts in the way, way old days, but all the threads from that epoch have been pruned.

Ah great to see you're also still hanging around here, Foxx! 😊
How do I find the Boss Key in 4? I've been through the whole known labyrinth at least 3 times and wasted many a bottle of Water of Life...
I've been playing Demo EX for a while now and first wanted to say, awesome job. 😊
I've been reading the posts on here--very helpful when I was stumped--and have gotten thru level 4 and reached 5... Tough!!!
Was actually wondering if there was a way to change the background music in this level... I saw that it was handled once before, but didn't know if I would be able to do the same thing.
Thanks!
I'm stuck in level 3, about half way...
Hi, I've been doing this quest using this message board as a help guide (it helped a whole lot). Well I'm at level 4 and I can't get past that room with the 4 statues and where the room is totally blocked by blocks. If I use the lens I can see a hidden passage to a door in the south side but I have no clue how to active it.
I only found the blue arrow and fire bomerrang, there are only three paths I can take and two ended in the above items and one is that room I cant get past.
Any help would be great. Thanks.
Oh and this quest is amazing.

Anyone please... I have tried EVERYTHING on that room. I have checked every room I have been in with the lens and I dont see anything but that invisible path. Please help.
I found the super bomb shop...except there's no super bombs in it. South of the off-colored rock, find a screen with lots of trees, blow the whistle, and a cave opens...that's the shop, right? Because there is literally NOTHING for sale. The merchant even gives a little sales pitch for the product he doesn't have. Odd bug? Or wrong shop?

That is weird. You went on the raft and sailed to the little island, blew the wistle and the cave opened... and there were no bombs inside? That is a weird bug, the merchant sold bombs to me. What level did you finish?
Oh and someone please help me with level 4!! What do you do in that room with the 4 statues that has the invisible path I cant activate.
I went back to the super bomb shop, and the merchant was actually selling the super bombs. Interesting. The first time I went there, I had finished Level 1. This time, I had gone through most of Level 2, only to be stopped by being completely out of explosives. (On a side note, I've found that the odds of enemies dropping bombs seem to get worse the more immediately I NEED them. I swear, whenever I absolutely can't carry any more bombs, the enemies drop them like they're going out of style! :googly: ) I decided, heck, as long as the game's forcing me to buy bombs, I might as well check to see if I can actually get the massive explosives. Go figure...
I have managed to get through Level 2. Now I just need to reach Level 3. I know it's at Spectacle Rock, and that I need a super bomb to open it. I just have to get through a :mad2:  :banghead: :disgust:  :bomb: son of a :shakeno: 😡 :uhoh: :glare: :badrazz: raft maze to get there! It would be nice if I had a clue as to where I should start...although that probably wouldn't help much.
You probably ran into the 2.10 shop bug there, Mad Steve. Sometimes, shops just won't show up when you go in the screen where they're supposed to be. Go figure, eh? :P Hopefully they'll get that fixed for the next release.

Actually the maze isnt that hard. Go to the island like before, go on the raft and it will leave you on the land with the waterfall, go up (where he white sword would be in Zelda 1, past the arrow rock, and you will see a raft tile, step on it and immediately press and hold up, then the raft will drop you off on the other side. Now you can easily find spectacle rock.
Now can anyone please help me with Level 4!!!!!!!!!
Can someone PM the password? I thought it began with P and ended with N if you know what I mean.

Oh yeah, and back in Dungeon J,when i killed the wizzrobes, and left those pehats in there and go in that room again, they became wizzrobes!I'm guessing its a glitch cause it keep on happening when i do that.
Well first you need to find the 500 coin wallet. Then from the exit of J go one screen right then bomb the first mountain tile on the the far right. The bombable kind. You should get.......350 coins!

Is there anyone out there that beat level 4? Please help!
If I recall I think you have to push a statue in that room....
Kingboo30 wrote:If I recall I think you have to push a statue in that room....
I have pushed every single block in that room. I have hit every block with a sword, fire boomerang, wand, bomb, sword beam, arrow, and blew the whistle in every tile... nothing.
I've looked everywhere I could go in the level with the lens of truth and the only thing I could find is that room we were talking about, it has an invisible path that I cant access.
