technically, you can do this now. Just make a poll with 1 option, and turn 'display names' on. Viola. A petition. What you'd want it for is a whole different cup of tea.
My opinion on adding new boards to AGN remains firm: No. In any case, I fail to see any need at all for a petition board, since not many petitions are ever proposed... just put them in General Discussion, where they'll receive more attention anyway.
