Current Star System Update

Well, this will take some getting used to, but right now the color order seems unintuitive. Meh, I'll live.

You should, as it will most likely remain unchanged for a few people who just can't seem to grasp changing the way stars look on the forums.

I see Shadowblazer also put in some code that allows us to view post count! Hover over someone's stars and bam, you get some juicy info. (not really juicy, may be the fact that I just masturbated to farscape)

So let me get this straight: I lose a star, get my color downgraded back to "Newbie Yellow," have to wait another 1/2 year before I get bona fide stars instead of these diamonds, AND I lose both of my arcade stars, so that I can no longer walk around deluding myself into believing I'm a S. Mod?

for the game champions, how about just that extra custom title bit like there was before, but this time without the star.

Most excellent. At least when people hit 3 years they'll get their stars back. Imagine a Lifeless ranked member on their first year...ouch...that'd be a lot of spamming.

At some boards it happens, but here yeah that would be kinda creepy.

If forum games posts count I'm sure that would happen.

Nice changes. It ws kind of boring to have to keep looking at green stars all the time. The bad news is that you can tell who exactly is older than you are around here.

Luckily, Forums Games doesn't count towards postcount. So I never go there. Besides, even if it did, it'd be a spamfest and would have to be gotten rid of.

All I can say is wow! It's going to take a good amount of getting used to, but I'm sure it's for the better. Let me see what my stars look like.

well, im liking this, although it just seems to take some adjusting to being as i was used to having stars for everyone instead of different shapes, but its cool none the less...

Notice that SB has orange RUPEES! hehe, but is it another addon that if you hover over the stars/spheres/diamonds that you see the post count and years? Or have I just not noticed until now?

I have to say I love the update...it always annoyed me to death that mad newbie posters get more respect from noobs than long-term members that post less, and think more before each post...now I have some second year diamonds to point out that I'm not the new kid on the block, even if I don't have three "stars", like heavy posters get quickly.

For some reason, none of the stars are showing up right now, though...all I'm getting are red Xs for all the Hyrule Night theme images, as well as the stars, but I saw them last night (when I was connecting via a 14.4kbps Cell-phone, rather than a 100mb/s network, like I am now...), it's a great change.

Probably a temporary IE glitch (or whatever browser you're using) 😉.

Before, the only thing newbs would have had to go on in regards to your forum age would have been the number and color of your stars. I doubt any of them looked at your registration date (most people probably don't).

I always look at registration dates... I find it quite easy to read the words under somebody's avatar.
