Hell! The Z3 sounds wont work in 182!

They work in 180 DOS but NOT in 182 DOS.... Why? And how do I fix it? ....? I hate the Z1 sounds....

It says : sfx.dat not found.

I have it like this:

z3: sfx.dat
z1: sfx1.dat

That's how it should be!! Right?

Yep, that's exactly how it's supposed to go.

But in 182, the Z3 sounds just won't work. I mean, they wouldn't work for me at all anytime I tried them even under 163, but they certainly won't work under 182, so I've heard from... well.. everyone.

but if you want another good SFX, try Zagg's BS-Zelda one. I swear by it now. The door opening sounds sound pretty well, especially if you're using combo-animated animating doors. Those are sweet! 😃

Hmm.. Yes, thank you. That would be greatly appreciated. I hope that I can manage to finally get at least one of the Z3 sounds working....

I've no problem with it, but the paths are not standardized for the sounds in the beta 180- version. So, if you didn't adjust them, people might have some problems editing/replacing the sounds. Not terribly hard, but a little annoying.

Hrm? I'm not sure I follow...

What I did was essentially just repack the old sfx3.dat without a password. Are you saying the identifiers (i.e. ZELDA_WAV, etc) have changed?

The identities are the same. Do this, grab one of the sound files and you will see it's pointing at c:\projects\zelda\blahblahblah or something like that (the hammer and hookshot sounds are even pointing to different directories). The Zelda 1 sfx.dat file has all of the files coming from a shorter path and everything comes from the same place.
