I just got the news. My great-uncle died last night. We knew he probably wasn't going to live but we didn't know when. They took him off the respirator last night. At least he got to live a good and long life.

Sorry to hear. At least you knew him and got to know him. He died knowing that he had people who loved him. =)

I know what it's like to lose family members. As a matter of fact, I've seen death happen right in front of my eyes. I'm very sorry to hear that.

Its better to pull the plug on someone if they're forced to have something like a machine to keep them alive, but have them stuck in their death beds if there's no chance of survival without it.

Well, they had just put him on the respirator because he had numerous illnesses that lead to him being comatose and the need for the respirator. It was uncertain whether he would have lived or not.

Jebus, hell has to be the only thing worse than being strapped to a bed and having all these machines keeping you alive. I feel for you Paul, I really do.

Sorry to hear that. But death is better than having to rely on medicines and machines so much that you cannot live your life. =\
