anyone know how quest makers, like PRINCE, pulled off the guy-poppin-out-the-hole-in-the-mountain tile? i must be missing something (again....)

It's an animated combo. Check out his tileset.
Actually, that was, if I'm not mistaken, done originally in 1.90. Thusly, he was forced to use an item there that you could never pick up and would never need. The blue candle, for instance.
That silly man is one of the Misc. 1 or Misc. 2 tile. He also used the clock for another; ever wondered why you don't see any clocks in the quest?
