[ZC 2.60] Item Counter Depletion in the Item Editor

    Okay, here's the score:

Currently, you can set any item to increment any of the various counters on item pickup.

You CANNOT--however--tell an item to deplete a counter when it is used. The only options for counter depletion are the MAGIC counter and the RUPEE counter, and these are controlled with flags.

I propose that we replace those two flags with a pulldown just like the pickup counter modifier. This would eliminate a lot of redundant scripts and enable easy use of some of the more popular features, like items that use different types of ammunition. It would even make the True Arrows rule redundant, as we could just directly set the arrow counter to be depleted by bow items.

    Food for thought.

A few more things it could use while we're at it:

    -Custom "Guy" types
--By this I do not mean the ability to modify the tile that the guy types use, but the ability to add more, and to modify which tile and CSet each "Guy" uses.
    -Custom Animation types(seriously, why can't I set a Manhandla's pincer sprite?)
-Dungeon Specific Keys should be able to be infinite like the Magic Key (setting a Magic Key to a specific level doesn't work)
-All shot types available to all enemies that fire shots (i.e. let Gohma do 5 or 8 shots, etc.)
-Ability to set Boss fireball as the projectile to any enemy, and to set non-boss fireballs to bosses
--Breath attack should not turn a boss fireball into a regular fireball the should be up to the content creator
-Custom Flags, more specifically, the ability to require custom items in order to reveal secrets (Level 3 Candle, and such)
-The ability to modify the Magic Book's fire damage (it's currently set to 1, independant of power level)
-The ability to make Key Blocks on the same screen unlock independantly. As of now, you can sort of do this if you have them in sequence and set your combos right, but in that case, all but the first will still reappear when you leave and come back. A creative content creator can get around this by using extra rooms, but.....still....
-Custom Combo types. This goes along with custom flags.
-Disabling non-level specific keys currently does nothing, that should change. Non-level specific keys are an easy way to expand the game past level 9, but if the player can accidentally waste them, that's troubling.
-Finally, Block parameters should be more accurately labeled, it should say (Block if <= #, not simply Block if < #)

This is quite a suggestion, and indeed, something I feel would be prudent. It would not however, bypass the 'True Arrows' quest rule, as that governs requiring quivers, and other things, and would need preservation for quest compatibility reasons. It would, however, allow the questmaker to use the arrows counter reference, without using that quest rule.

Good idea. If _L_ were around he probably would have added it already.
