This is an old one, but heck, I always liked it.

I voted for Phazite this week, his shot of the dungeon makes want to play that dungeon It looks like it might be pretty interesting.

Now the other two NJF, Yours is pretty good, but it just seems a bit empty. Nothing wrong with that. but I do like seeing other stuff in screens.

And bigjoe, Your screen looks like a generic Gameboy screeshot, I mean it does look great. but not good enough to win my vote.

Mine: Eh, looks kind of messy.

NJF: I like the layout of the screen. It makes that area look pretty complex with paths going everywhere. I am bothered by those floating structures though. I feel that there should be some supports under them. Personally I don't like the shape of the bottom platform either, but that's a minor complaint. Perhaps the grass could use some details as well.

bigjoe: Most of the action is at the center of the screen. I think it would be nicer to have everything a bit more spread out. Have the tall grass flow off the screen. Maybe use different types of grass (like the bright one in that tileset) or dirt to make the ground look more interesting. If you're going for a simple field this may not work for you, but I found that mountains, waters, and forest shrubbery, and paths help to give the screen some direction. By direction, I mean it puts the screen in its place among the rest of the map and gives the player more memorable landmarks. Take a look at Link's Awakening's overworld for an example of what I mean. Or actually I like the Oracle of Seasons map the most out of the GB Zeldas.

    Hope this is helpful.
