Sword 4 (Master) doesn't show up in game

Hey guys! I am having a weird issue with Sword 4 (Master). I tried putting it in my quest for the first time and when I test play it the sword isn't there. I can put any other item in it's place and they will show up, but not sword 4. Can anyone help? Thanks! Oh, and it's v2.5

What was wrong? It's good to get an answer even if you figure it out yourself. Someone new might google this exact problem and it would be nice for them to find an answer. (I've had this problem many times before on other sites.)

Well, the screen that I put the item on is the same screen that you start on when you start a previously saved game. For some reason, no item will show up on that screen unless you start a new game, not continue one. That's why I thought the sword was the problem, because the other items I was testing by starting a new game. Then I switched the item to the sword and this time I continued a previously saved game and the sword wasn't there. After that I tested other items that way and they also didn't show up, so I concluded that no item will show up on the same screen that you start on. Is that true?

No, that shouldn't stop it from showing up.
Has you previously done the same with a different item on the same screen? If you picked up an item on that screen and saved, it would remember that you'd already picked up that screen's item. Changing the item wouldn't restore it.
