i'd liek to see a zelda classic for windows 8
Zelda Classic 2.50.1 should be compatible with Windows 8. I know this, because I can get it to run perfectly fine on my Windows 8.1, although sometimes the keyboard doesn't work at all, which can be really frustrating.
I can get ZC to run on my Windows 8.1 laptop, unless I want to run it fullscreen. That causes graphic problems.
Do not meddle in the affairs of dragons, for you are crunchy and good with ketchup.
The thing is, I always use ZC Launcher to open the program, so I can't run it as Administrator if I'm opening it with ZC Launcher. Besides, for all I know, the keyboard issues could be a Windows 8 specific bug with ZC itself.

The point is, ZC tends to work differently on different operating systems.
Yeah, sumtimez my keyboard won't react to typing text into a dialogue window (such as cheat-tool for testing a new quest I created). Now I'm back in Windows 7 for many reasons (not only for this one) and it works always fine.
Works fine for me... unless i run it fullscreen. then it flickers liek crazy. using windows 8.1
windowed mode runs perfect.
I'm hoping that updating Allegro will fix some of these issues. It's on the list.

It won't. 32-bit color should fix the palette and flickering issues, but that's a separate matter. Nothing was ever done about the keyboard problems. If you need to run as an administrator, that's probably to get permission to write the save and config files, which has nothing to do with Allegro.
