I am also excited. I've wanted this remake since OoT was done.

Finally. I am pumped for this!
Not to mention the rest of the stuff the direct from yesterday mentioned (Amibo compatible games, release dates for some games, info about some games we didn't know much about, etc)
Still, the MM3D announcement made me literally shake from how giddy I was from hearing it.
My Quotes and other siggy stuff.

When I Seen MM3D this was pretty my reaction.
That was my reaction when I got my NES. Well, not quite so screamy. :)

That looks nothing like A Link to the Past.
Anyway I knew this was inevitable, Aonuma just needed Hyrule Warriors to be released first so he could have time to spare to supervise this project as well. I mean the release date's in Spring, so it seems to me there's still some ways to go before this is ready to be launched.
Hyrule Warriors development probably had nothing to do with this. Nintendo likely needed to know how much fan suppoort was behind this. That's why, I'm guessing, there were so many Majora's Mask hints over that past few years. They were trying to see if a remake would actually sell. Nintendo knew a remake of Ocarina of Time would sell, because it's fucking Ocarina of Time. Majora's Mask was not as popular, and to remake it required some certainty that they'd make money. The cameos in Link Between Worlds probably convinced them to go through with it.
Also, come on, if they had waited till after Hyrule Warriors to even consider this game, we'd not have such a fleshed out trailer so soon.
Well Hyrule Warriors was near completion and released in August in Japan, and this trailer came three months later, I'd think that's plenty of time to make a trailer. You might be right, but I still kind of believe that Aonuma wouldn't have wanted to split his attention between three projects at once, especially since Majora's Mask was the first game he led and he'd probably want to be heavily involved in the remake overseeing process. Grezzo posted a hiring announcement back in June, we don't know how long that process took place, and if the game was indeed in development before the release of Hyrule Warriors (which is likely), my bet is that they only spent that time building the engine based off of OoT3D's and MM's original engine and then porting the entire game into it. Aonuma didn't really need to be around for that. Once Hyrule Warriors was ready, Aonuma could come around in full force to fully oversee the creation (and it wouldn't surprise me if the game hadn't been completely rebuilt yet), and then they could go from there. Well, not "full force," as Zelda U is still in development, but he could appear in a stronger capacity. I could be completely wrong, but that's just how I see what went down.
