Not sure if it's just graphical or what, but the bait doesn't show up when I try to use it on the latest build of Zelda 2.5. I was playing Matthew Bluefox's Zelda Deluxe 1st Quest.

The bait in that quest has a duration of 0, so it disappears as soon as it's placed.
