No doubt..I had a nurse at one of my homes who threw away a good career and her family because of a guy she met online playing WoW. What she fell for was a character in the game because the guy was a jerk and beat the hell out of her..she is back here now but her husband would not take her back. I've also seen more than one person lose their job because of WoW
Bah, nobody loses their jobs because of WoW. They lose their jobs because they have addictive personalities and simply choose WoW to fixate their addictions on. Saying WoW destroys lives is like saying gambling destroys lives, porn destroys lives, or drugs destroy lives. Granted, people commonly say those things, but I think that puts too much blame on the thing being addicted to and takes blame away from the addicted person.
There are some things rupees can't buy...
For everything else there's Master Sword Card.
I'm in your darkest nightmares and your wildest dreams, where nothing is ever as it seems.
The human brain is a remarkable piece of engineering, but wow, it is really capable of some odd things with a little bad wiring. Or if a connection gets mucked up. Have they tried taking out her brain, blowing on it, and putting it back in?
On addiction - I don't know if I'd blame the person for having an addiction any more than I'd blame the object of their addiction. It's just bad wiring in the brain. They had no control over the brain they were given. And honestly, in general, we have a lot less control over our brains than we like to think we do. Conscience isn't fully integrated into the brain - it was just kinda stuck on at the last minute. It has some overriding powers, but in a sense, it's like trying to tame and ride a wild animal - sure, our brains are a bit more developed, a bit more intelligent, but we're still never gonna have full control, all the time. I mean, you could argue they should work to avoid temptation if they know they've got an addictive personality, but damn, man, you'd pretty much have to be a shut-in for that to work.
The artist formally known as macweirdo42, formally known as weirdguy (it's a long, uninteresting story).
I went to an interview at a bank for an network security position. One thing led to another, and we somehow started talking about World of Warcraft (Pre-BC). Seriously, this game is everywhere its seems. We talked for several minutes until they asked me what server I played on, they told me their server and said they were a human paladin. I said I was an undead priest.
Then a moment of silence passed over the room...
The interview continued. Needless to say, I didn't get the job.
WICHITA, Kan. (AP) -- Authorities are considering charges in the bizarre case of a woman who sat on her boyfriend's toilet for two years -- so long that her body was stuck to the seat by the time the boyfriend finally called police.
Ness County Sheriff Bryan Whipple said it appeared the 35-year-old Ness City woman's skin had grown around the seat. She initially refused emergency medical services but was finally convinced by responders and her boyfriend that she needed to be checked out at a hospital.Ness County Sheriff Bryan Whipple said it appeared the 35-year-old Ness City woman's skin had grown around the seat.Ness CityUNTIL NOW.Ness
