You don't get any additional benefits from premium membership, I believe. This is a fairly old thread, which is why it mentions that we get access to custom avatars and titles with premium membership when in fact all(?) members have that already.

It does not automatically renew. It does allow a larger avatar though.
People without 100 posts can't have custom titles. At least premium members can use the search feature.
Can premium members get a larger sig character limit?
