Sheik is hands down the best character in the game. Omg I fuck people up with her. You dash attack em, up A non smash, and then juggle there ass, and then do a jump + A attack to smash em off the screen. I've done 100%+ combos on people. My friend does it, too...he's actually better at it than I am. But I am really good with Samus, Ganondorf, and Sheik is my ace. I'm decent with everyone else.

I wanted to vote for Yoshi, but since he's not on the list, I voted for Link. That sword rocked in the original, so I'm pretty sure it should do well in Melee. Plus, that down air stab can help against jugglers.

You can "override" his downstab with many characters' air attacks, plus if you just hold block when a person uses it, they are open to a smash attack. Link is too slow, though it is SO PHAT to let a fast person rush you, use the hookshot to grab them, toss them down, spin attack them (always works), have a bomb already in hand and toss it at them, then toss the boomerang at them. It's a nice combo.

I am afraid I don't share your opinion. I think Zelda is infinitly better than Sheik. Zelda only has one serious weakness, no strong downward attacks, and a quick Farore's Wind will send her to the ground, safe out of harm's way. Sheik is much faster, and has very good downward attacks, but her controls seem very loose, she slides around too much, she doesn't have many power moves, and her jumps and Smoke technique don't get her as far as Zelda. Zelda is hard to time with, but all of her airial techniques except Meteor Kick, most of her throws, and her non-downward ground attacks are very powerful or very damaging, or both. The trick is that you need to time your impact and range properly, but that's not too hard once you get used to her.

I agree with Samus being good, though. Her only damaging flaw is her slow ground speed and the mind-numbingly slow Rolling "Dodge". She is, in my opinion, the best character in the game. She has many overpowered projectiles with great range, and her close combat skills are superior to most. And she's the third heaviest character, which means she can take a few hits most other people would need to dodge. And if you can perform her "Grapple Extend" technique, she becomes just plain sickeningly overpowered.

EVERYONE is good at Gannondorf, I think. I'm not arguing there.

And before anyone bashes Pichu... Fear the seziure rodent! His weight (Or, his lack thereof) and the 1-5 MAX damage he takes from some of his attacks, are more than compensated for by his high speed and ultra powered Headbutt. He has everything Pikachu WISHES he had, and more.

Pichu's headbutt is insanely annoying, but you are forgetting that he also has the most powerful smash in the game, hands down. I don't care who I'm facing, if a decent amount of damage is done to the opponent, Pichu's smash will knock them out cold. He's also insanely fast, extremely tiny, and his thunder is a lot quickert than Pikachu's

If you play me with anybody except a pokemon or Roy and Marth, I will fuck you up with Jigglypuff. I am the master of the the Rest technique.

Oh, and Sheik may be "loose" in terms of gameplay, but that's because you need to sit down and perfect her. Once you know her timing, it's all natural. As for smash moves, her punch in the air is a smash if you are above 50% damage...and it's very effective.
