McAfee keeps snatching ZC player as it is a virus!!!

Are you guys sick and tired of McAfee snatching the ZC player as it was a virus when we all damn well know it is not a virus at all! I'm having to restore the damn player everytime I wanna play Zelda Classic. Whitelisting ZC doesn't even help jack shit as it just keeps snatching it away when I want to play. I have to disable the antivirus putting my computer at risk for virus just to be able to play zelda.

This should be the top most priority for ZC developers to fix this fake virus bug or whatever. It MUST piss off all the ZC community members having to deal with this McAfee bullshit when they want to play ZC.

To do this they would probably have to register their program with McAfee. Then McAfee would check for viruses and if its cleared then it wouldn't keep popping up on virus checks. Of course, this wouldn't be for free - McAfee would charge for their service and this could cost a bit. Who's going to pay this fee? The devs? The ZC community??

    2) The "everyone else second" part can only be implemented if and only if it takes a very short time.
    3) If large amounts of money are being paid for the quest change rule number 1 to "sponsor tastes first and own tastes second" and rule number 2 to "must be implemented even if it takes nearly forever".

I don't think McAfee registers software developers. However, submitting a false positive will only get that particular executable whitelisted. Next build will get eaten if it shows a similar pattern to the scanner.

The way I got out of antivirus harassment was hy purchasing a digital signature. Antivirus companies, especially the big names like McAfee and Symantec, treat unsigned executable files with more suspicion than those with a valid Authenticode signature.

The essence of the deal is the same - you pay money and your software gets treated with less suspicion. Registering software developers is the same as purchasing a digital signature as far as what you've told me. Its only difference is the name. Who's going to pay for ZC's digital signature?

Of course the planned Zelda removal should probably happen before considering putting your identity on the executables. At the very least, mae the Zelda content an external module, like 2.55 appears to be doing.

Have you been following the news? Zoria - the champion of Zelda content being an external module, has been dethroned. New devs aren't going to go anywhere near this kind of module stuff.

It's frustrating that everything is about money when it comes to McAfee.

Money makes the world go round and round and round and round and round and round and round and round and round and round...

    More like a dill pickle.

Download Lands of Serenity today! You will be knocked comatose by its sheer awesomeness.
The Titan's Quest, best played in the bathroom as the excitement can be somewhat...overwhelming.
