Mac - Title screen loads then game crashes - HELP I WANT TO PLAY MY CHILDHOOD AGAIN

    Hi,

Just downloaded the most recent version for Mac (V-2.50.2-mac)and I'm sad to say all I get is:

    1. the Armageddon games title screen,
    2. then I hit space/enter and I get the main Zelda title screen,
    3. I hit space/enter again and I get either nothing, or I get the character name screen but it is entirely blacked out save for a red blinking square indicating my cursor/character position.

I have tried entering a name in the murk and hitting enter but it again appears to crash/goes to black. It also crashes when I try to go to fullscreen.

Occasionally when it crashes I get the error message:

    - (Error loading 1st.qst: Internal error occurred 1st.qst)

Anyone who can help me in this matter, I would be most appreciative.

    Many thanks,

    Cakeman

That's because of a security feature in the OS called Gatekeeper Path Randomization. It runs the program from a random location, which means it can't find any of its data files. It's easy to work around it: in Finder, just drag the ZC and ZQuest applications to another folder (I think you might have to move them individually for it to count). That will flag them as safe and disable randomization for them. You can move them back afterward.
