The supported platforms are:

Mega Drive/Genesis
Super Nintendo
Gameboy/Color/Advance
NES
PC Engine

You can get the emulators from their site or you can do what I'm doing and use https://www.libretro.com/index.php/retroarch-2/.

As far as N64 and PS1, it's not supported but we could still play them together strictly based on percent of completion. Anything newer would have to be seperate to account for users whose PCs or collection may not be up to snuff.
@mrz84, @King Aquamentus, @Chris Miller, since all three of you were the first to show interest, could you let me know a timeframe that would work for you?

For example, say I pick first and I pick my game to be Actraiser. http://retroachievements.org/Game/270. Take a look through the achievements--nothing too outrageous. (This community needs to blow up so there's more developers that think outside of the box...stuff like "did you collect that coin that spells certain death for the average video game player?") https://howlongtobeat.com/game.php?id=191 8 hours seems to be the max to completion. I haven't played it since the SNES days so I couldn't honestly tell you how long it takes for OCD gamers like myself.

According to your schedules though, what's realistic for "retro" games? Two weeks? One month? Longer?

I'll get a signup thread going for those interested. I'm not sure what my schedule will be like next week but we should be able to launch this around the beginning of March.

Also, what should we call this thing? Play it Forward? Byte Club? (Lol)
