    Variable Shielding Opinions

So... I'm working on some ideas for a few quest projects (the primary one being Scarlet Channel: CJC5thDX) and one such idea led me to a question.

What is the community's opinion on enemies shielded on unusual sides?
I did this with SPOILER at the very end of the original and Reskin versions, with the hint that you shouldn't hit him in the face (meaning that you should). But, I was thinking about random enemies in general and I want to make a few variations that are carrying shields. If it is visible that they are holding the shield raised, then it's clear that their front side is protected. But what if they're lugging it on one side, like Link does in the Gameboy games?

Would it be okay to have a shield-toting enemy protected on say the left or the right, provided the sprite shows them holding the shield on that side? I think this might be an opportunity to trip up classic players who have preconceptions about what shielded and armored opponents mean in the game, but if it is a matter of great contempt in the community I want to know now before I bother setting up graphics for it.

So, to the main topic of the thread: have you ever encountered unusually shielded enemies in any quests? Which ones? Are you for or against their usage in quests?

I see no reason not to myself. The only problem is that it's not as defensive as shielding from the front because you can't use a homing factor to make them block more hits.
