I am playing "a link to the past quest" by "magma lord" and am stuck. I have beat level 1, found a secret cave/dungeon and guy inside asks about shells. I have the boomerang, bombs,bow and arrow and letter and can't get further. What do i do next?

Well this is certainly relevant, I'm in the exact same predicament. At this point, I'm rather convinced that the quest is unbeatable.
EDIT: Actually, where did you get the arrow?
Go to where 4 pots are just west of bird statue and bomb grey thing next to it.
