    3DS Pros and Cons

I'm stirring uncomfortably over the prospect of purchasing a 3DS. My main pro is the comfort of the analog control and the prospect of the new Super Smash Brothers game, and my main con is that there's really only one or two other games I would be willing to pick up for the system. It feels like I just bought the DS Lite (Even though it's been a few years) and I've already been burned by purchasing a system for just one game.

What are your pros and cons for the 3DS?

I hadn't purchased a handheld system since the original DS (never even had a lite), so I didn't feel so guilty about buying a 3DS when my DS broke after falling off a high ledge. I'd say I'm pretty darn happy with the thing, though the buttons can be a bit hard on my fingers after a while. And yeah, there may not be tons of games out there, but there are some really great ones that in my opinion make it worth it. I loved the hell out of Super Mario 3D Land.

My pros: Bravely Default, Kingdom Hearts: Dream Drop Distance, A Link Between Worlds, Shin Megami Tensei IV, Luigi's Mansion: Dark Moon, Shin Megami Tensei: Devil Summoner Soul Hackers, Super Mario 3D Land, Paper Mario Sticker Star, Mario and Luigi Dream Team... I really like my 3DS.

    @SUCCESSOR
PS3. I bought it for LittleBigPlanet (which I loved, by the way), but the rest of the PS-exclusive games were never appealing (so I could have gotten by fine with my XBox 360 if I hadn't wanted LBP so much). In an effort to make the PS3 library more robust I started getting games for the system, but they were all games I would have gotten for XBox anyway. So, burned.

The DS Lite is the first new handheld I've had since my GameBoy Color (I bought a used GBA from a friend). People I know have been pushing Bravely Default, and I am intrigued by A Link Between Worlds.

...I don't know, maybe I'll look into it again this summer and see if I'm still intrigued.

Con: It's a hand-held so I'll never, ever, ever buy one.
Pro: If there's ever any must-play games on it I can just emulate it later.

This also applies for every hand-held ever made. I'm actually just now barely starting to get to a few PSP games this year.

Pro: plays every DS game on it (even dsi, but its limited to what the system memory can hold, which Nintendo should fix IMHO so they save on the sd card too and still be playable), smash bros, tons of other 3ds games (some digital so i suggest getting a sd card thats at least 8-32 gig; anything bigger won't work without risking damage), virtual console (nes, all gameboy types [gba vc is coming in april to wii u and from the looks of it 3ds as well], game gear, maybe some more sega stuff in the future)
Cons: dsi games currently still use the system memory, waiting to see if the gba vc is coming to 3ds or if will just be wii u (which would suck), potentially awesome games that aren't being localized because the company that maked them thinks we won't want them (3ds remakes of games like dragon quest monsters, dragon quest 7, etc), the sd card included with the 3ds is only 4 gig...not a lot if you want to download digital games

You can look up online for lists of 3ds games and read about which ones are of interest to ya. If you do get a 3DS, post your friend code (you only need one for 3ds) cause I would love to get together with some AGNers on some games.

Also unlike the DS, the 3DS cannot play GBA games, just as the DS could not play standard Gameboy titles.

    3DS Pro And Cons

    Pros:
    3D Depth is cool
Graphics of games are Wii quality
    Lineup of games is great
    Nice Thumb analog stick

    Cons:
    Getting headaches from 3D sometimes
D-Pad and abxy buttons feel tight
Design flaw so if you carry the console in your pocket the touch screen scratches the top screen.
    stylus location is odd
Start and Select buttons feel so hard to push

    ----
    2DS Pros and Cons

    Pros:
    Cheaper Price
    No chance of headaches
    Stylus location is better
    Screen image is sharper

You have to buy Nintendo's 2DS case.
