Bug with Hookshot in Sideview

In the same test quest where I discovered several problems with using the raft in sideview, I also discovered a bug with grabbing onto hookshot grab combos with the hookshot in sideview. In this case, the hookshot will not pull Link downward through 'Hookshot Only' or 'Ladder or Hookshot' type combos. Instead, the Hookshot breaks and Link gets stuck.
