    Hosted Quest Project Forums

AGN is bringing back it's Hosted Quest Project Forums. For anyone that doesn't know, an HQPF is your very own forum for your ZC Project. We are providing HQPFs for single developer quests as well as group projects. The exact requirements are yet to be decided, but anyone can apply. Information on how to apply will be given when we get the forums set up. For now feel free to discuss and ask any questions.

This has been of discussion for a while, but what would everyone think about making a community quest for AGN? I know PureZC has one, but who cares? It's not like they have a copyright for it.

Anyways, for said quest everyone would choose a tileset, and work on different areas of the quest for a certain period of time, and we'd probably keep it pretty simple to avoid conflict among the members of said quest.

For the tileset, we'd use some of the common ones now'a'days, and vote on one to use.
Classic, New BS, EZGBZ, Pure Remembrance and Dance of Remembrance are what I have in mind for the poll, but other suggestions a free too.

We'd also have to share progress, like if there is a change in story or if somebody wanted to change a scripted item in their dungeon.

We may also meet together in chat, so we can discuss the project in a faster, and easier manner then having to constantly PM each other all over the place, otherwise the project may get confusing and out of control for everyone, and with such a big quest that is the last thing we will be wanting to happen.

Perhaps, because there is such a differential in the ability of our members, we shouldn't put all of our eggs in one basket. Maybe we need several community quests so that everyone can contribute to one that fits their talents.

Take this, It's Dangerous to go Alone
A heavy-handed, drop in the wilderness type of quest, this one would primarily be about exploration and challenging game-play. Scripting would be restricted to creating new tools (and even then...) and enemies, and the plot would be limited so as to not hinder the development of the challenge.

There is a story... of a boy in a blue crayfish shirt
Possibly the resuscitation of the NeoFirst, or more likely a new project, this would be the opportunity to tell a really compelling tale. Gameplay wouldn't be as important in this one; it'd be all about the presentation. Stunning visual and plot elements, events, and so forth.

    AGN Style
Why not make another official tileset? From scratch (IE no ripping allowed!)? It would be a good way to bring the community together for the project without the pressure of managing dmaps and whatever. Every member would contribute at least one set of tiles (after we settle on a common style for the set, of course), and a designated compiler could arrange them in a functional way.

    Script EXPLOSION
Maybe we could just go crazy with the mechanics of a quest, breaking apart what it means to be a 'Zelda' game and making something truly unique. I had a pipe dream about a Zelda title that was a cross between the cult game "Abuse" (Side-scroller with mouse-look style equipment) and the smash hit "LittleBigPlanet" (Ie, 3D side-scroller with various 'lanes' the player can switch between).

    Thoughts?

That's a very good idea, but I'm not sure we would have enough people to contribute to many different projects in that way.
