First, what version of Windows do you have? If you have Vista, it has been confirmed that Vista isn't the friendliest with version 2.10, and you should use one of the 2.5 betas instead.

Second, you can try using windowed mode by setting it to start that way using ZC launcher. If you don't have ZCL, do this instead:

    1) Open the Start Menu, and click "Run..."

    2) Type "command" in the box, and click "OK."

    3) Navigate to the folder that ZC and Zquest are in. If you don't know what this means, please respond with the entire path where ZC and Zquest are located, and I can give more detailed instructions.

    4) Type the following lines for ZC and Zquest, respectively, to start them in windowed mode:

    zelda-w -windowed
    zquest-w -windowed

You can also go to the Zelda Classic FAQ to learn more about Command line parameters.

P.S. Please don't double post. While there are sometimes exceptions, double posting, in general, is frowned upon at this forum site. It is better to edit your prior post using the "Edit" button on the bottom right corner of your post.
