    [ShadowTiger] 16 Facts About Me.

I'm going to begin an interesting trend around these parts. Here's how it works.

Your thread title should be your name in brackets, followed by the words "16 Facts About Me."

    [ShadowTiger] 16 Facts About Me.
    [Prrkitty] 16 Facts About Me.
    [Archibaldo] 16 Facts About Me.

etc. Then list 16 (Or more. Please not less...) facts about you. They can be random, or serious. I've seen everything under the sun at this point.

Or, if you want, we can keep it all in one thread. Do note that we'll all be commenting on each others' facts regardless of where it is, so it might be better to keep it to a single thread. If you agree with this, AGN Mods, do change the topic title name as you please.

    1) I secretly pity people who type like "how r u" and don't use proper punctuation and don't care about spelling and/or grammar. The nature of that particular pity is such that I simply feel like they're cheating themselves. I mean, think about it. The reason for using shorthand like that is to save time, right? That's what "lol" is all about, right? However, words like "gr8" are extremely counteruseful, as you're essentially training yourself to not type properly, -and- are stripping yourself of any chances to improve the very typing you're saving yourself from doing. If you don't try, you'll never succeed. :-/ Things like "lol" don't really count, because it's not a word. It's an expression. They're very different things.

    2) Impolite people tick me off. I mean they seriously do. I work at an Ace Hardware, and it's in stores like that that you really begin to understand the underlying nature of certain individuals. The moment that you forget that the person waiting patiently for you behind the desk is an actual human and not just some servant tool of yours, is the moment that I label you as "someone I needn't aim to make smile." Though obviously, attempts should be made anyway, as not all hope is lost at that point. Basically, if you walk up to a person, and just state the name of the item you're looking for, without saying "Excuse me," or "Hello," or anything at all similar to that, that's what I'm talking about. I've had big gruff guys walk up to me and just shout "NAILS." and expect an answer that will satisfy them mentally, save them time, cut costs, mow their lawn, pay for their insurance, and bring their ancestors back from the grave. Casual agreements with co-workers state that when prompted with a one-word question, the answer we'd all LIKE to give involves playing a "word association game." You say 'NAILS," I say "POTATO. I'm not very good at this game." Oh how I wish I could do this... I also really want to walk around with a big sandwich board that says "Please and thank you get you helped faster."

    3) I seem to have a natural connection with pigeons. I'm really not sure why. For one, there were NO Pigeons on Long Island before my father moved there with my mom from Brooklyn. It's like they followed him there. There were pigeons all over my Elementary school. No other bird has made me laugh like a pigeon. I once saw a train in Jamaica pull up to the station and open its doors, to reveal a single whole bagel sitting mere inches from the doorway opening. A pigeon happily hopped onto the train and began to peck at it, shaking the bagel to and fro, .. when the doors began to close, and the pigeon scarcely had time to turn around in time to see the door close nearly on its poor beak. I wish you could've seen the expression on this pigeon's face. It actually had an expression! Also, at least once a week, I have a dream where I just pick up a pigeon from the ground and put it in my backpack. Seriously, not less than once a week. It's crazy.

    4) I believe that I am socially awkward. My posture is pretty awful, though I can't quite help that. (Unruly spine. Thinks it's all that, but it's really not.) The contents of my senses and the contents of my brain are entirely different at all times, and I can't quite help having something from my brain seep out in inappropriate times, because on occasion, it seems funny at the time, and somehow relevant. But only in my head. :-/

    5) I love to write. I'm that person who writes really, really big FAQ articles for websites. I love putting them in fancy fonts and colors, and just making them altogether easier to read. Making things easier for people is actually one of my favorite activities, and that's something that has never changed, thank god.

    6) When I'm at home, I'll be sitting at a computer with headphones on, and it can be seconds or hours before I realize I'm not listening to anything on them. Even getting up and coming back, I still put them back on to listen to the same nothing. I don't even know what it takes to make me realize I'm not listening to anything.

    7) I'm surprisingly non-religious for an Orthodox Jew. I mean I really do enjoy being Jewish, (I spent plenty of time really thinking about what it means.) but I've grown to be more of a "Hopeful Agnostic" type. I really, really want there to be a god, but at the same time, I feel I need to think as realistically as possible. Therefore, I am technically an atheist (Or agnostic, really...) with strong beliefs in the power of Judaism on its own, but a god doesn't really fit into things, unfortunately. This means sort of "putting aside" those Jewish rules and laws that don't really make a lot of sense without god. I still don't quite understand why we can't eat meat and milk together, but even worse, I actually detest the fact that the superjews are so serious about this rule that they have to tell everyone else to be like, 9999999% paranoid about it regardless of their awareness of the sources of the meat and milk. (You can't eat meat with its mothers milk.) The general standing is that even if you know a calf has never been near its mothers milk as you eat it, and know this for SURE, then there are other things to worry about, like ... the wind blowing evaporated milk miles and miles away onto the meat. Stuff like that. It's messed up, yo. D: It constantly pains me.

    8) It's apparently very easy for me to "forget" about the past. Most of the time, I can just discard memories and ancient relics like they were dust. I would only keep them if I can use them in any way, shape, or form. I'd throw away my first train set in the blink of an eye, but would keep a piece of art someone drew in 3rd grade just to admire the fact that someone so young could draw so incredibly well.

    9) My tastes in music are very odd. I like almost all genres, but not 97% of the individual songs within them. I acquire new music by hearing it attached to something else I'm doing. Watching Smash Bros videos, for example. I've saved just about every piece of music those videos had due to my enjoyment of the videos themselves. I'd barely even know a piece of music is good, unless I have the visual and mental inspiration from the video itself to provide the music with a good excuse to be downloaded. So when I play that music, I think not of the genre, but of the source I got it from.

    10) I'm not a sports person. Not at all. When I would repeatedly be asked in High School whether I liked the Yankees or the Mets, I'd pick one of them at random. If someone happened to note that my answer changed, I'd either ask them why they asked me twice, or how they remembered my previous response, ... or would just kinda look at them funny. (Which I love doing, by the way.)

    11) I love reading. Oh god I cannot tell you the level to which I love to read. However, it depends on the series and subject. I read two 500 page books in a single afternoon one day. ("When the Wind Blows" and "The Lake House" by James Patterson.)

    12) I love designing as well I love to plan, create, and set functionality to things. Map Editors give me such a thrill. However, I also have that thing where I look at a blank slate, and get so very many ideas, that I don't even know where to start, and get quickly overwhelmed, and get discouraged, and go on to do something else.

    13) I am somewhat afraid of the concept of random number generators and their ilk. There's really no way to know if a random number generator is rigged or not, because it's random. It is entirely possible for a random number generator to read "666" over and over and over and over again, and there's no way to say that it's been rigged, because it is entirely possible that it can do that. I don't even care if it's unlikely or not. If it's POSSIBLE, then I don't concern myself with statistics. Statistics don't mean anything at all if the possibility exists. (That's actually the reason why I get frustrated with people who shout off statistics for things for their motivation behind doing things. 90% of accidents occur in the home, "so I moved." Ha.)

    14) I really like math, but I can't take tests. I instantly forget everything I've ever learned during math tests. I can follow ANYTHING the teacher does whether they explain it or not while they're doing it up on the board, but when it comes to doing it myself, not only have I not retained that information, but I would have forgotten more than what I would have learned had I not.

    15) I'm cheap as hell. I used to be even cheaper. I'm pretty sure I've literally gone YEARS without spending any money whatsoever. It's only within the past two or so years that I've really begun to spend any money. Mostly on food, really. But I also really would've just let myself starve and wait until I get home so I can eat there. After all, hunger is the greatest sauce of all.

    16) I'm a brown belt in the "Tora Dojo" Shotokan style karate series. I feel both honored and cheated by it, really. It was the kind of style where you only get tested once a year. None of this "Black belt in nine months" Bullshyt. You put in a full year's worth of serious content to earn the smallest note of achievement, much less a new belt. I do feel cheated however because they never really taught us how to defend ourselves. It was that "artsy" style, where you focus on the Katas, and the tonfa, and the stances, and blocks. So, ultimately, I'm no Chuck Norris, but damnit, I can DANCE.

... ... DAMN this is long. Told you I love writing.

I encourage you to test this theory of yours at a casino.

Cool idea, ST. I'd make one of these lists, but I think most of the more interesting things about me are things that I tend to keep private…

Heh. Heheheh. Just be glad I didn't expand the list to 32 items. I would have. Some of those items I keep private might have leaked out if I had given them the chance.

I do highly encourage everyone to make their own. It's been going around on Facebook for a while now, and everyone has been extremely enthusiastic about them. It's incredible!

Curse you ST for posting this just before I go on a 2 week vacation!

I'll try to get mine done before I leave.

God damnit I hate your posts. You need to learn to fucking summarize and not write 20 paragraphs in every post.

You don't know if all the good content is at the end of the really long books until you read them.

It's one of the reasons why I love reading.

Of course, if you just don't have time to read, that's fine, but that doesn't explain why you could thusly spare some of your precious few seconds of time to respond like that.

Yeah that's very true BUT I've been seeing you post here for 6? years now and I know that you take 2 paragraphs to say something that could be done in one sentence.

Yeah I don't know if all of the good content is at the end of a really long book until I read it but if it's by an author I've read work by for 6 years I already know the ending is pointless and just a reiteration of the first chapter.
