Re: "Check Mii Out" and Nintendo's Strategy

Well MS does handle online play infinitely better than Nintendo does... and I agree with Cloral, parental controls are a good solution. Sure, a lot of parents might not use them, or bother to look into how to use them, but if Nintendo made it clear upon purchase that the options were there, then I can't imagine they could possibly be held liable for someone else's lazy parenting. Using the Brawl example again, it just doesn't make sense that in order to protect kids, NO ONE who owns a game can chat with their opponents or add them as friends in random battles. It's an inflexible solution and an inferior one.

The solution for lazy parents would be to have them on by default. That way they couldn't accidentally leave them off.

Thats such a good idea. Didn't you have to set up a 4 digit password on the PS2 when you first fire it up? That way in order to watch an R-Rated movie or whatever you have to know the password? I don't see why the Wii isn't like that, ESPECIALLY if its meant to be in the living room.

[but then again...if the kids play it first, they could just set it to their own password...bleh, I dunno...]

Yeah, I don't know how you'd prevent kids from disabling the parental controls unless the parents set the password. *shrug*

So wait, whats been stopping kids from changing parental controls on their 360? Why wouldn't Microsoft get a lawsuit for the same stuff? Lame.

I just had a freakin' brilliant idea! Okay, the problem with Miis is that there really isn't much to do with them, outside of making them, sending them, and Wii Sports. But yes, I have an idea that would be freaking awesome. What if, in the new Smash Bros., they allowed for Miis as playable characters? Or in Mario Kart? I think both games could make excellent use of the Miis.

That would be dumb IMO. Miis look like crap - they don't match the art style of those games. I think it was dumb that they are playable in M&S at the Olympics.

I dont know what's worse, the fact that there are Mii's in M&S at the Olympic Games, or the fact that you somehow know this. Have you actually played it?
