It's certainly an apt analogy. If voters were forced to elect candidates based on the candidate him/herself, rather then just voting for party X, people mighty actually think a little bit.

Then again, people would likely just vote for the guy with the best hair.

God I hate that man... You know, though, it wouldn't bother me so much if it weren't for the fact that the majority voted for him in 2004. That's just embarrassing. As for politics in general, I like the South Park analogy of every election being between a giant douche and a turd sandwich. Sounds about right. Politicians... God...
