Stop waggling your Wii for two freaking seconds and play TF2

Team Fortress 2 was released this morning for preorders of The Orange Box. Don't let the "beta" tag discourage you, there's no "only one level" nonsense like there was for the CS:Source beta, it's pretty much the full game except they're probably going to patch it a few times between now and October 10th (the official release date of The Orange Box). It's also coming out for the 360 and PS3, but nobody cares. If you've never played Team Fortress before, shame on you.

A few facts:

* This game has been ten years in the making. It was originally supposed to come out alongside Half Life. The first one.
* This game has personality, as they say, out the ass. Each of the nine classes has its own unique voice work, charactor animations and animated taunts.
* This game is so very very pretty. And as long as you have at least a Geforce 6 series card or ATI equivalent, you're going to be able to play it in full HDR too.

Death screenshots (You have an option to take these when you die and the camera swings over to the guy who killed you a few seconds after the fact, giving them some time to pull off a taunt and humiliate you up close)

I've been playing this today. So far my favorite classes are the Scout and Spy. Though it appears that I'm not the only one liking the Scout. After a few hours, it seems that more and more people are playing it to the point that I've seen entire enemy teams of Scouts. They might get seen to be overpowered. We'll see...

I've heard the scout described thus:

Gah, I just need $45. I've been waiting for this for, well, since it was announced 10 years ago. I really miss the good ol' days of TFC, and I'm really hoping this is every bit as good as it looks.

Ah, freakin' awesome... I wish my computer didn't suck ass, but hey, it works. Anyway, wow, so totally freakin' worth the wait. TFC was one of my favorite games of all time, and oh man, it's so great to be back. So far, my favorite class is the demoman. Seriously, nothing more terrifying than a demoman in a narrow corridor.

I'm getting it as soon as I have a computer worth playing it on. I used to love to play Team Fortress.
