The best puzzle game is out now on Nintendo DS as Planet Puzzle League, also known as Tetris Attack, Pokemon Puzzle League, and Panel De Pon.

Anyone pick this up? I've been playing since Tetris Attack on the SNES, and own Panel De Pon for Super Famicom, and Nintendo Puzzle Collection.

The DS version does away with a character theme, and goes for a more modern mainstream look that might appeal to anyone. Apparently, the Japanese version "Panel De Pon DS" has a theme based on the original game with the character Lip, but its unavailable in the U.S. version. I might order the import eventually to have that theme.

I have Pokemon Puzzle League on the GBC. It's a really fun and challenging puzzle game. I think some probably didn't like the Pokemon theme, but I liked how you had to complete certain challenges to "capture" certain Pokemon.

The only problem I have with the game is that if you stop playing for a while, when you start up again, you almost have to re-learn the game. At least that's how I felt. I totally sucked again once I picked it up after not playing for so long. That's pretty cool that it's online, I hadn't heard that.

I just recently got in the last month of so, Dr Mario/Puzzle League, and I really want this just because this is my favorite puzzle game. Not realyl sure if its worth it, considering the GBA game is just as good. The only thing I really like about PPL is wifi support.

Is this anything like Puyo Pop? (Not the new crappy ones, we're talking Kirby's Avalanche and Dr. Robotnik's Mean Bean Machine).

Blocks or "panels" rise from the bottom of the screen, and you can switch only two at a time horizontally. Line up at least 3 of the same type of block vertical or horizontal and they disappear like in Tetris. It can be very fast paced, with VS. as the main game where you make combos of clearing blocks to make garbage blocks fall onto your opponent's side, to try to force their blocks to fill the screen and lose.

I think if you like Puyo Pop, and puzzle games in general, you should like this. This was the game that EGM had to ban from their offices at one point because they weren't getting any work done.

Those of you who have questions may have played this game under the name "Tetris Attack" on the SNES.

I love this puzzle game to death and when I saw it in the store today it blew my mind. I am anxiously awaiting my paycheck :)

Hmm, I really like Tetris Attack / Panel de Pon. I may have to pick this up.
