First off, since I haven't looked into the latest beta(s), I'm not sure if this is possible yet.

Look at any Zelda game besides the first two. When an enemy drops a Rupee or whatnot, it flickers before it vanishes. Look at the original; when an item drops, it initially flickers, just lies there for a few seconds, then it disappears suddenly.

Which is why we should have two new quest rules: "Dropped Item Doesn't Initially Flicker" and "Dropped Item Flickers Before Disappearing". The first one would just make the item appear as it is dropped, and the second would have the item flicker before it disappears. (Or, you could just combine them into one rule.)

Makes sense, doesn't it?
