    Question Screen Flickering

My brother's computer constantly flickers when he plays Zelda Quest.
It stops if he plays in windowed mode or if he turns the throttle off, but windowed mode is tiny and any attempts to make it bigger crash the game or sinply resize the window but not the play area.
Is there any way to remedy the flickering? It's rather annoying.

I've just downloaded v2.10 and noticed the same problem.

I clicked on the "Vsync" thingy in the Settings menu and it solved the problem.

Not sure why it works, but give it a try?

Darn. I just noticed it makes the game run far too fast to be playable if you have that switched on though!

    Re: Screen Flickering

Dammit, I got myself a Win XP and now I have the exact same problem!
ZQuest works fine, but when I play quests with ZC, the screen flashes/flickers the whole time you play a quest. Yeah, when the ZC title screen appears, after that the screen flickers all the time and that is very annoying and makes anything unplayable. By flickering I mean like, the screen constantly blacks out at a very fast pace so it looks like a lightning effect, but after one minute of playing and watching this flashing your head really starts to hurt.
When I uncheked the option "Throttle FPS [F1]" from the settings menu, the flashing stopped, but guess what, Link and enemies move now faster than lightning and again quests are unplayable.

So any help would be appreciated because I'd really love to get ZC working as well. I can't even test my own damn quest with ZC anymore, the flickering is just too serious.

Oh and ZC 1.92 b183 works just fine, no flickering or anything so I wonder what the hell is wrong with these newer versions?

    Re: Screen Flickering

maybe it still occurs with the throttle option toggled to speed the game up... but everything animates at a speed which gives off the illusion that its no longer flickering.

also i got no such flicker problems ever, maybe the 64bit windows exhibits this behavior?. (using winXP home sp2 32bit)

You might try running in compatibility mode for an older version of Windows. I can't say whether that'll work, but I've heard of it fixing similar problems.

    It worked swimmingly for me.
