I did think it appropriate to make sure that the string of error messages was provided ala carte, but you are definitely right that the third post should have been an edit to my second. Ten seconds after I posted it I realized it. No ability to delete my own postings, and thus no way to boil them down into one pile of spew. Sorry.

thank you, but i think you quoted the wrong parts or the quotes you made are unrelated to what you said about them... or is your text that relates to your quotes above the quotes rather then beneath them?

Hah! Yes, I reply over the quoted text, just like in an e-mail or on UseNet. I guess it looks a bit strange in these days of UBB code, but it's how I've been replying with quotes for years. I tend to find that the other way around is hard to read. Each to our own devices.

Though my post stating that my avatar-ish graphic is too large went up after your complaint, I actually realized it sooner. The reason the graphic was so large is because I linked to the wrong one, which I didn't know until I had turned on 'View Graphics' under my CP prefs, and when I did I was irritated at myself for taking up so much blasted space.

I would use one a third smaller still, but at that point, it's hard to make out the text.

I was under the impression that top-quoting was widely regarded as a sin against Usenet. Certainly if you tried that at rec.games.roguelike.nethack you'd be resoundingly shunned.
