    ZC Final Poll

ok, at this point, we have two paths we can go through. We can either

    A) Continue with what we're doing, ensuring that a stable release won't get released until later this year (it WILL come this year though) and possibly introducing more bugs with each succesive beta or

    B) Take the code base of 12d, apply bug fixes and augmented features to that code base, and get a stable version to you in as little as a few weeks, depending on how quickly we fix bugs. However, the release with all the new features will then take some time to come out.

The choice is yours and yours alone. Good luck.

    Re: ZC Final Poll

You know me, I've been screaming for a stable release for two years.
The way your "poll" is worded though doesn't exactly give enough information for a well thought out answer.
It looks like the difference is a couple weeks or four months.... but what exactly is the difference?

I'll wait and see if more info is forthcoming before I vote in the poll.

    Re: ZC Final Poll

How long has it been since there *was* a completely stable release?
Personally, I'm on the fence with this one. I can see how some people would want a release "as soon as possible", while others wouldn't mind waiting. This will take some thinking on my part to come to a decision... =/ (lol)

I choose option B. I would rather be able to use ZC without it crashing a lot (aspecially if your using the subsreen editor!) than get a new feature.

    Re: ZC Final Poll

Sorry for not wording it properly. Basically, we're working on something that will be an awesome change for ZC (and one that can open the floodgates as far a quest design goes). However, it can possibly take quite a few months before it's table enough for release. On the other hand, we have the source or beta 12d still, and we can instead work on that, fixing bugs and adding smaller features that people want, then release that as a stable version in a couple of weeks. Then we can continue working on this change of ZC, which'll still take a while, but at least there'll be a stable versin in the meantime. So what do you say?

    Re: ZC Final Poll

I say go for a stable release.
That should cover all the quests that have been made up to this point, and the ones people are now working on, and then open the floodgates in the next version.

I second that first a stable release and then you have more time and less pressure to release a version with all the new goodies
and the zelda community has a stable version to work and play with in the meanwhile :)

    Re: ZC Final Poll

While a stable release *would* be nice, I'm not sure that I can personally condone such a gesture since several planned features are still missing. Completion of the new Link tiles/ animation system is a biggie, and we're still stuck with the SMAS screenwipe instead of something Zelda-like or adjustable, among other things like the need for larger monsters to go with larger Link.

    Re: ZC Final Poll

I choose option A, unless 1.90 style Tribbles will be reimplemented soon.

I really haven't had crashing problems with the betas. The only obvious problem I've seen (vires not splitting) has been fixed. While I would like to see a stable version, I cannot consider it complete if older quests don't work correctly.

I would really like to ditch the old DOS 1.90 version.

    Re: ZC Final Poll

Most of the crashing is in the tiles grabber and the subscreen editor.
