    Luigi's quest

The most recognized second banana in all of video game history gets center stage for this one!

    Story:
Reports from Sarasalaland indicate that an unknown invading force is wrecking havok on the longtime ally to the Mushroom Kingdom. In such circimstances, Mario is usually sent out to investigate, just like he did in Super Mario Land. This time, however, Mario is on assignment to act as a body guard for Princess Peach Toadstool while she heads for Delfino Island, but the portly plumber promised to send someone in his place: Luigi.

The younger, taller, thinner Mario brother is nervous at first about treking out to Sarasalaland alone, but Mario manages to convice Luigi to go by offering an incentive: Luigi would have a chance to meet the ruler of Sarasalaland, Princess Daisy, a good friend of Peach's.

    "Is she pretty, like Peach?"

"Of course! You should go meet her!"

However, upon arriving at the shores of Sarasalaland, Luigi immediately notices that the invading force has taken over the Sarasalaland Castle and is promptly chased out of there when he tries to pay a visit to Daisy. Unbeknowest to Luigi, the invadors have scattered eight Super Stars around Sarasalaland and hid them in various hideouts protected by the invaders' most trusted guardians. Without these Stars, no one would be able to enter the Sarasalaland Castle.

    Gameplay:

I plan to use tiles and sprites from mostly Super Mario Bros. 2 and Super Mario Land for items, enemies, etc. I have already determined certain enemies:

Ocktrocks: Shy Guys (SMW2: YI); slingshots for firing rocks
    Moblins: Spear Guys (SMW2: YI)
    Tektite, Blue: Kumo (SML)
Tektite, Red: Fly (SML)/Fighter Fly (SMA-S: SMB3 Battle)
    Goriyas: Boomerang Brothers (SMA-S: SMB3)
    Lynels: Snifits (SMB2); fires flames
    Pols Voice: Batadon (SML)
    Wizzrobes: Magikoopa (SMW)
    Aquamentos: King Totomesu (SML)
    Manhandla: "Mouths" replaced with Chomps
    Traps: Thwomps (SM64 style)

I am in the process of making and pulling sprites, but I appreciate any help. If you have more good ideas, feel free to post them here.

Edit: I could also use the following sounds (i.e. a different sound file):
Weapon swing sound effect instead of defult sword hiss for primary weapon (which starts as a plumber's wrench)
Bob-omb speak for planting a Bob-omb (replaces conventional bombs)
"Ow" or some other cry of pain when Luigi takes damage
"Mama Mia" or some other distressful cry from Luigi for death sequence
Mario coin collect sound effect for collecting coins (which replace rupees)
Magikoopa spell cast sound effect to replace Wizzrobe spell cast sound effect
I destroy my enemies. I make them my friends. —Abraham Lincoln

    Re: Luigi's quest

That sounds cool! I may be a huge Zelda fan,but I also play Mario a lot!
I like the way you used the enemie tiles. The only thing I see is the
Manhandla with chomps. Then again, what else can you replace
    them with?
